My Story, My Mission
The Origins of KM, In the Words of Founder & Coach Kathryn Matsey
My name is Kathryn Matsey (the KM of Know More), and I have been an infertility nurse for 13 years at Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM) in Colorado. Over the years, I have provided supportive nursing care to hundreds of patients who are hoping to build their families through inseminations or IVF. I am happy to say that many have been successful! I continue to work at the Center in semi-retirement to keep my knowledge base current. Private infertility coaching allows me to provide the additional care many women need as they go through the IVF process that they are not able to get from their nursing team. This is an especially important service for women who have never done IVF before and are about to move from inseminations at their local clinic to their first IVF cycle at one of the nationally recognized IVF centers around the country. There are so many uncertainties, and a coach can be a huge source of knowledge, context, and support.
My professional background is of course important, but my personal story is equally important. I chose infertility nursing for a reason. I was an infertility patient myself and know the longing for a baby in your arms. I have been through the grief of losing a stillborn baby girl, a twin pregnancy, and four early miscarriages. I am so very grateful for the two living children I have in my life. Because of my personal experience I am a better and more compassionate caregiver to other women who strive to build a family. Making this journey a little bit easier for others is my passion.
